We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who brings strong software engineering skills and a deep understanding of production systems. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys building systems that make infrastructure more scalable, reliable, and easy to operate – using code, not runbooks. You'll work with a highly collaborative team to design and build the internal platforms that power all of Asana, from product features to AI systems to offline analytics. Our tech stack includes: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), MySQL (RDS), OpenSearch, DynamoDB, Redis, Terraform, Datadog, TypeScript, Scala, Go, and Python. We’re especially interested in people who think like backend engineers but care deeply about systems – things like failure modes, operational cost, debuggability, and performance. This role is based in our Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do, and your recruiter can share more about the in-office requirements. We offer a Contract of Employment (UoP) for our employees in Poland. What you’ll achieve: Design and build frameworks, tools, and services that improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of Asana’s infrastructure. Lead end-to-end projects, from scoping and design through to rollout, across multiple systems and teams. Improve the operability of stateful infrastructure like MySQL, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB – and help drive Asana’s long-term vision for storage reliability. Debug production issues across the stack. Yes, there’s an on-call rotation – but this isn’t a pager monkey role. You’re here to fix things properly and make sure they don’t break again. Partner with product teams to shape a service-oriented architecture that enables fast, reliable development. Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship. About you: Strong software engineering background – you’re comfortable writing production code and designing systems (we use Go, Python, Scala, TypeScript). 7+ years of experience building and operating backend systems at scale. Familiarity with distributed systems and storage technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Search), especially in cloud environments. Experience with AWS services (e.g. RDS, EKS, IAM), Terraform, and monitoring tooling like Datadog or similar. Solid understanding of SRE principles (e.g. SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response), but you approach reliability as a software problem first. Clear communicator and strong collaborator – you're comfortable navigating trade-offs with stakeholders across the stack. Important: If you’re only comfortable with scripting, this isn’t the right role . We’re looking for engineers who build and ship real systems. Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making Why this role? Founding team: You’ll be one of the first SREs in Warsaw – and a key player in a growing team. Drive real change: This isn’t a role where you’ll just patch up legacy systems. We are expecting (and supporting) real architectural changes to improve reliability, scalability, and long-term operability. Big impact: Our product is scaling fast, and reliability is a top company priority. Room to grow: As this team grows, so will your influence – whether you want to lead projects, mentor others, or help shape how we scale. Global collaboration : Work closely with experienced engineers in San Francisco, Reykjavik, and Warsaw, while helping build the future of SRE at Asana. What we'll offer: Generous, transparent and fair compensation system (base salary and generous Restricted Stock Unit for Asana Inc.). Contract of Employment ( with 50% tax deductible costs for author’s rights usage for Engineers). Health insurance with dental and travel coverage (Lux Med). Lunch catering on the days that you work from the office. Career growth budget. Home office setup budget. Gym/Fitness reimbursement. Fertility healthcare and family-forming support with Carrot . Mental health support in Modern Health. Group life insurance. MacBooks with all necessary accessories. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 31,000 - 36,000 PLN gross monthly on the contract of employment (UoP). The actual base salary will vary based on various factors and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base compensation range for this role may be modified. Our total compensation consists of base salary and equity (RSUs). #LI-Hybrid #LI-AZ About us Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration. Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability

On-sitefull timeSeniorWarsaw, Poland
Apply Now

Asana’s rapid growth brings new challenges in keeping our systems fast, reliable, and resilient. As our product evolves, we’re making a major investment in reliability – and building a brand new SRE team in Warsaw is a key part of that strategy. This is your chance to help shape it from day one. This isn’t a traditional “ops” role – we’re looking for strong software engineers who are passionate about building reliable, distributed systems. You’ll work closely with a small SRE team in San Francisco, infrastructure engineers in Reykjavik, and an established infrastructure team in Warsaw. Warsaw will be a significant hub for our future infrastructure engineering and operations. As one of the first engineers here, you’ll have a real say in how we build reliable infrastructure, manage incidents, and support the rest of the company. What you’ll achieve Influence the future of Asana’s SRE practice, especially as we grow the Warsaw team. Lead reliability-focused projects across our stack – from infrastructure to tooling to incident response. Define and implement Asana’s incident management process – we’re investing here, and you’ll help shape how it works. Build internal platforms and frameworks that help other teams improve the reliability of their services. Be part of (and help shape) a sustainable on-call rotation – shared across teams in Warsaw, San Francisco, and Reykjavik. On average, we handle ~1 page per day, but it’s not constant, and we care about keeping things sane. Work with our stack: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Datadog, MySQL (RDS), ElasticSearch (OpenSearch), Redis, DynamoDB, Terraform, TypeScript, Scala, Go, and Python. (Yeah, we know this sounds like buzzword bingo – but we want this post to actually show up in your searches.) About you You’re a strong and experienced software engineer who’s comfortable writing and reading code – this isn’t an ops role. You care about reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability , not just quick fixes. You might have worked as an SRE before – or maybe you were a product engineer who kept getting pulled into infra work because you cared about how systems actually run. You’ve seen systems at scale (or want to), and you’re excited about solving infrastructure problems that have broad impact. You’re curious , take initiative, and aren’t afraid to work in ambiguous spaces – especially important on a brand new team. You collaborate well across teams and want to help others build more reliable systems. You don’t need to know our exact stack, but you’re eager to learn whatever it takes to make things better. You demonstrate curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making. Why this role? Founding team: You’ll be one of the first SREs in Warsaw – and a key player in a growing team. Drive real change: This isn’t a role where you’ll just patch up legacy systems. Senior Analytics Engineer

On-sitefull timeSeniorVancouver, Canada
Apply Now

Senior Analytics Engineer The Data Science & Analytics team at Asana is how the company turns data into decisions — defining the questions that matter, surfacing the answers, and making sure insight is at the center of every critical product and business call . As a Senior Analytical Engineer, you sit at the intersection of Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science, and you own the data foundations for a business domain end to end. Your mandate is to turn raw data into reliable, business-ready datasets that PMs, analysts, data scientists, and leaders actually trust and use — and to define the business logic and metric standards that make AI-powered self-serve trustworthy. You consume governed Silver tables and produce the Gold layer and semantic layer beneath Asana's most important metrics, dashboards, and Genie spaces. This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule . The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday . Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays . Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do, and your recruiter can share more about the in-office requirements . What you’ll achieve Own the Gold layer for a given business domain (e.g., PLG funnel, marketing attribution, revenue, NPI/AWM): Design and continuously improve the curated, dimensional data models that downstream dashboards, Genie spaces, and ELT reporting depend on. Implement the canonical business logic behind your domain's core KPIs: Translate KPIs into governed, versioned metric marts that resolve "this number doesn't match" disputes for good. Build and curate the semantic layer and Genie spaces that power self-serve in your domain: Author the metadata, documentation, and prompt/metric definitions that let stakeholders query governed data in plain language through Claude and Databricks Genie. Own the metric dictionary for your domain: a single source of truth for what each metric means, who owns it, and where to find it. Partner with peers across DS&A to keep KPI definitions consistent where domains overlap. Author data contracts and SLAs at the Silver→Gold boundary, partnering with Horizontal Data Engineering on the inputs you depend on, and owning data quality, freshness, and oncall for Gold/metric-mart failures in your domain. Build and maintain certified, board-ready dashboards on governed Gold data, partnering with Data Science to translate insight requirements into trusted, reusable products rather than one-off builds. Partner directly with Product & Business, Data Science, and Engineering to turn ambiguous, underspecified questions into scalable datasets — anticipating downstream reporting impacts before they become incidents, and raising the data-model quality bar across the domains you touch. About you Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making . 4+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related analytics role, with a track record of independently owning the data models a team relies on for decisions . Advanced SQL and strong data modeling fundamentals: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and semantic layer design. Hands-on experience with a transformation framework (dbt or equivalent), orchestration tooling (e.g. Airflow), version control (Git), and modern warehouse/lakehouse platforms (Databricks experience preferred). Practical experience with data quality testing and observability, schema management and data contracts, and query/model performance and cost tuning. Demonstrated domain fluency in at least one business area (e.g. PLG funnels, SLG pipeline, marketing attribution, Product telemetry, revenue/ARR) and the judgment to translate "I don't trust this number" into a specific, durable model fix. Strong cross-functional partnership skills: requirement gathering, prioritization, documentation and enablement, driving alignment on metric definitions, and explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical partners . Curiosity about AI-native a nalytics — NL2SQL, metadata/semantic layers for self-serve, and using tools like Claude and Genie to multiply your reach rather than replace rigor. Exposure to Unity Catalog, Looker/LookML, or reverse-ETL/activation (Salesforce, Marketo, Gainsight) is a plus At A sana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission . If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply . Senior Engineering Manager, AI Agents

On-sitefull timeSeniorVancouver, Canada
Apply Now

We're building AI Teammates: agents that work like actual users in Asana and integrated apps. They triage bugs, respond to requests, draft project briefs, conduct research, and handle complex knowledge work across your team's workflows. Unlike chatbots, Teammates are shared team resources that build memory and context across all executions. They get smarter as you and your colleagues work with them. Currently in beta with Fortune 500 customers, AI Teammates represents Asana's shift from tracking work to getting work done. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Agent Orchestration team — the team building the connections to other systems that allow Asana AI to serve the highest-value workloads. This means building the integration capabilities, agent skills, and vertical use cases that make AI Teammates extraordinarily useful across enterprise tools and workflows. You'll manage a senior team of six engineers (ICs up to L6) working at the intersection of systems integration and emerging AI capabilities to architect the foundation that lets AI agents operate seamlessly across customer environments while meeting enterprise requirements for reliability and compliance. This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of Agentic AI. You'll work directly with model partners, lead the core team shaping how enterprises collaborate with AI agents across their entire tool ecosystem, and drive the technical direction for one of the most impactful applied AI challenges in the industry. You'll also flex into org-level engineering leadership across the broader Asana AI group, contributing beyond your direct team. About Asana AI Asana AI is the company's number one priority. We're building the future of human/AI collaboration — going beyond chatbots to integrate AI into everyday workflows for some of the biggest companies on the planet. Asana's AI Teammates deliver a secure, multi-player, enterprise-grade agentic experience. They're transforming Asana from a place where work is tracked to a place where work gets done. Our AI teams move quickly, with a track record of successful launches, and we're just getting started. Agent Orchestration is the team building the connective tissue between Asana's AI agents and the broader enterprise ecosystem. We're tackling hard problems: How do you build an agent skills system that lets Teammates acquire and use new capabilities dynamically? How do you create deep integrations across tools like Slack, Teams, and other enterprise platforms so agents can operate wherever work happens? How do you deliver vertical use cases that make AI Teammates extraordinarily useful for specific, high-value enterprise workflows — all while meeting security and compliance requirements at scale? We're a senior team, fast-moving, and directly shaping Asana's AI platform strategy. This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements. What you'll achieve Lead and grow the Agent Orchestration team (~6 senior engineers, ICs up to L6), setting technical direction for the systems that connect Asana's AI agents to the broader enterprise ecosystem Drive the architecture and execution of agent skills, deep integrations, and vertical use cases that make AI Teammates the most capable agents in enterprise workflows Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to define and execute on roadmap priorities that directly support Asana's top company priority Drive alignment across AI teams on shared infrastructure, APIs, and patterns for agent development and integration Improve team delivery pace, champion engineering velocity, and drive AI coding adoption across the team Attract, retain, and develop exceptional senior engineering talent Flex into org-level engineering leadership work across the broader Asana AI group, contributing beyond your direct team What makes this challenging You're leading the team building the connections that make AI agents genuinely useful across the enterprise — in one of the fastest-moving domains in technology. The AI landscape shifts weekly — new model capabilities, new integration patterns, new enterprise requirements. You'll need to set durable technical direction while staying adaptive. You're building systems that span multiple external platforms and protocols, handling complex stateful workloads and diverse API surfaces — all while meeting enterprise SLAs for reliability and compliance. And you're doing all of this while growing and retaining a team of senior engineers who have no shortage of options. About you 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years managing technical teams Interest and passion for applied AI, large language models, and agentic systems is essential — you bring genuine enthusiasm and a commitment to building in this domain Strong systems integration and platform-building experience, with a track record of connecting complex systems across diverse environments Proven ability to set technical direction and drive alignment across multiple teams on shared infrastructure and patterns Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain senior engineering talent Comfortable with ambiguity — you thrive in zero-to-one product environments and drive clarity from complexity Effective cross-functional collaborator who builds strong partnerships with Product, Design, Data Science, and peer engineering teams Deeply curious about AI and emerging technologies, actively leveraging them to elevate product experiences, sharpen decision-making, and move faster. Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making. Strong candidates may also have Applied AI experience in production environments, particularly moving beyond demos to reliable, impact-driven deployments Familiarity with agent capability patterns: skill acquisition systems, tool integration frameworks, and dynamic capability routing Understanding of emerging protocols (e.g., MCP, A2A) for standardizing how agents interact with tools and each other Track record of driving engineering velocity improvements and developer productivity tooling adoption (e.g., AI coding tools) Experience building deep integrations across enterprise platforms (Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, etc.) Experience with production observability and evaluation frameworks for AI systems At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission.
