We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist and Automation Engineer to support the Navy records management mission by designing advanced data workflows, scalable analytics solutions, and automated pipelines that strengthen data reliability and accelerate digital transformation. In this role, you will apply deep experience in data science, scripting, and automation, including tools such as Python, PowerShell, and SQL, to modernize enterprise data processes, refactor legacy scripts, and implement secure, high‑performance solutions that enable large‑scale records management modernization. You will collaborate closely with program managers, developers, and Navy stakeholders to analyze requirements, improve data workflows, build predictive and descriptive analytics, and ensure automation aligns with compliance and security standards. You understand that data scientists and automation engineers are central to mission success, integrating disparate data sources, applying advanced analytics, optimizing data movement, and building maintainable, resilient tools that improve decision‑making across the enterprise. You will process massive datasets, validate scripts and applications through Pester testing, build data‑driven insights, develop automation pipelines, and contribute to Agile delivery across multiple modernization initiatives. You Have: 10+ years of experience with data science, advanced analytics, or large‑scale data engineering within mission environments such as the DoD 10+ years of experience developing automation and analytics solutions using scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell Experience processing large data sets, optimizing ETL or ELT pipelines, and applying statistical or machine learning met hods to mission‑critical workflows Experience building and validating automation or analytics scripts with testing frameworks such as Pester or PyTest Experience implementing secure coding practices, role‑based access, and compliance‑aligned automation Experience supporting Agile delivery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and cross‑functional collaboration Ability to modernize legacy scripts or codebases for performance, reliability, and scalability Ability to design and implement data‑driven dashboards, data quality checks, workflow improvements, and process automation tools Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree Nice If You Have: Experience with Navy enterprise systems or records management modernization initiatives Experience as a data scientist, utilizing advanced data analytics across a larger enterprise environment Experience implementing or supporting CI / CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and automated test frameworks Experience with Python, R, ML, or AI analytics workflows supporting data‑driven decision‑making Experience with data cataloging, retention, archival, or met adata enrichment Experience building automation linked to M365, SharePoint, or Power Platform ecosystems Experience with Azure automation, GitHub Actions, or hybrid cloud scripting solutions Top Secret clearance Master’s degree MSFT Power Platform Certification s Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
