About the Role
Key Responsibilities Inspection & Measurement Inspection and measurement of sheet metal, fabrication, machined, bought-out, and assembly components. Preparation and review of measurement protocols and inspection reports. Verification of customer-specific quality requirements. Supplier Quality Management Handling supplier quality issues and claims. Follow-up and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and development activities. Participate in supplier audits and ensure closure of audit findings. Quality Planning & Documentation Preparation and review of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP). Review of PPAP, ISIR, and related quality documentation. Maintenance of inspection records and quality documentation. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Conduct Root Cause Analysis using 5Why, Fishbone, 8D, etc. Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives. Support reduction of supplier PPM and repeat quality issues. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Engineering, SCM, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Suppliers for quality-related topics. Coordinate supplier visits and quality improvement activities
Qualification B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering with 6-10 years of experience Preferred Skills Technical Skills Hands-on experience with: CMM Roundness Tester Surface Roughness Tester Hardness Tester Height Gauge Profile Projector Air Gauge Strong understanding of: Engineering Drawings GD&T Tolerance Analysis Measurement Techniques Manufacturing process knowledge: Welding & Fabrication Sheet Metal Components Machining Processes Heat Treatment Surface Treatment / Plating Processes Quality Systems ATF 16949 ISO 9001 PPAP APQP (preferred) FMEA SPC MSA 8D Problem Solving Certifications (Preferred) CWI Certification NDT Level-1 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor Qualification Behavioral Competencies Good communication and interpersonal skills.
