About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Business Systems Engineer – Tax Technology to lead the strategy, architecture, implementation, and optimization of our global tax technology landscape. This role will serve as the technical leader for tax platforms, partnering closely with Tax, Finance, Accounting, IT Engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and automated tax solutions that support CoreWeave's rapid global growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multiple tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, 1Source etc.), with strong indirect tax domain knowledge, and hands-on experience integrating tax platforms with ERP, billing, procurement, and enterprise applications. This individual will drive the modernization of tax technology while ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and enterprise scalability. Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture, implementation, enhancement, and support of tax solutions across global operations. Design scalable tax technology solutions supporting Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST, excise tax, withholding tax, and other indirect tax requirements. Partner with Global Tax, Finance, Accounting, Revenue, Procurement, and Engineering teams to define and implement tax system strategies. Design, implement, and maintain integrations between tax platforms and enterprise applications including NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, Coupa, billing platforms, e-commerce platforms, procurement systems, and data warehouses. Support global tax determination, tax calculation, exemption certificate management, tax reporting, tax returns, and audit requirements. Lead tax technology projects from requirements gathering through architecture, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support. Drive automation of tax processes to improve accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and scalability. Ensure tax systems comply with SOX controls, audit requirements, data governance policies, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate new tax regulations and implement required system changes. Develop technical designs, integration specifications, and solution documentation. Troubleshoot complex tax calculation, integration, and compliance issues across enterprise applications. Establish best practices for tax technology architecture, integrations, monitoring, and operational support. Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for tax platforms and enterprise tax systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 15+ years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise tax technology solutions. 10+ years of hands-on experience with multiple tax platforms. Strong understanding of indirect tax processes including: Sales & Use Tax VAT GST Global indirect tax compliance Experience implementing tax systems integrations with one or more ERP platforms such as: NetSuite SAP Oracle Experience integrating tax systems with procurement, billing, e-commerce, and financial applications. Strong understanding of enterprise integration technologies including APIs, middleware, and iPaaS platforms (Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar). Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and enterprise integration patterns. Knowledge of tax content updates, jurisdiction management, tax rules, and exemption certificate management. Experience supporting tax audits, SOX controls, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex tax system issues. Proven ability to lead large-scale enterprise initiatives and collaborate across cross-functional global teams. Preferred Qualifications Tax platform certifications. Experience with Tax Returns, Data Integrity, Accelerator, or e-Invoicing solutions. Experience with Vertex, Avalara and other enterprise tax engines. Knowledge of global e-invoicing and Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) regulations. Experience supporting multinational organizations operating across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. Familiarity with ASC 606 and financial accounting processes. Experience working in cloud-first, high-growth, publicly traded organizations. Knowledge of AI-enabled automation and modern tax technology innovations. The base salary range for this role is $188,000 to $275,000. What You’ll Do You will own the frontend architecture of the W&B app, the product ML researchers and engineers work in every day, and be accountable for app performance, stability and reliability. A single page in W&B assembles data from many parts of the product, which power different product features owned by different teams. Individually those requests are all reasonable; in aggregate they contribute to increased load times and a worse experience for users. Performance here is a question of composition: what queries each page needs before it can render, what queries can add to that set, and how those boundaries hold as the product grows. You'll define those boundaries and make the calls they depend on. This role is frontend-led but architecture-deep and organizationally wide. You'll spend time shaping other teams' designs and building consensus across boundaries, and you'll own execution of your own plans when that's what it takes to land them. In this role you'll be responsible for the architecture, performance, and stability of the W&B Models frontend, defining the frontier of innovation for the team, and managing cross team requirements within the Models system. What You’ll Do: We're looking for a Staff Engineer, File & Block Storage to design, build, and operate the file and block storage behind our high-performance AI storage platform. You'll build reliable, scalable, high-throughput systems that power some of the largest and most innovative AI workloads in the world, working closely with infrastructure, compute and platform teams. About the role: Design and implement a highly scalable multi-tenant control plane that supports CoreWeave’s growing AI storage and cloud infrastructure needs. Contribute to the development of exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage, distributed file system and integrate dedicated storage clusters into diverse customer environments. Work with technologies such as RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to optimize storage performance and efficiency. Participate in efforts to improve the reliability, durability, and observability of our storage stack. Collaborate with operations teams to monitor, analyze, and optimize storage systems using telemetry, metrics, and dashboards to improve performance, latency, and resilience. Work cross-functionally with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless storage capabilities across the stack. Share your knowledge and mentor other engineers on best practices in building distributed, high-performance systems. Who You Are: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience working in storage systems engineering or infrastructure. Strong hands-on experience with object storage or distributed filesystems in production environments. Experience with one or more storage protocols (e.g. S3, NFS) and file systems such as Ceph, DAOS, or similar. Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, C++, or Rust. Familiarity with storage observability tools and telemetry pipelines (e.g., ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana). Solid understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architecture. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed, high-performance environments. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
