About the Role Five Rings gives responsibility immediately and recognizes contributors rapidly. New hires work closely with senior software engineers, traders, and quants developing trading software in C++ on Linux. Application development includes implementing trading strategies, connecting to exchanges, designing trader-facing interfaces, and translating mathematical models into software code – all within a distributed system that spans the globe. If you can write great software as part of a team, and are comfortable both learning from and becoming a mentor, you’re likely to thrive here. Annual Base Salary: $300,000. Total compensation packages are comprised of base salary and a discretionary bonus. LINK 2027: Software Development Intensive Program This program will focus on current sophomores (those in their second year of university). Where: New York City, NY - Five Rings HQ When: LINK is offered in three one-week sessions: LINK[0]: January 4-8, 2027 LINK[1]: January 11-15, 2027 LINK[2]: August 9-13, 2027 Five Rings will host an immersive, 5-day workshop exploring how trading systems technologies are designed and built. Leveraging our state-of-the-art C++ and Python development environment on Linux and mentored by our full-time software developers, participants will cover a wide range of topics, from network protocol stacks and distributed systems to C++23 and the fundamentals of automated trading system programming. Current sophomores are invited to apply to join us in New York City at our office in Brookfield Place for this week-long intensive experience. Candidates apply once to LINK; session placement is determined during the offer process based on your availability and university's academic calendar. About the Program Five Rings offers an intensive summer internship program. The program includes immersion in both hands-on projects and classroom instruction from some of the brightest minds in the business. Interns get the chance to learn all about the trading business in our classroom as well as directly on the job while they spend their summer with us. Summer Interns will be mentored by experienced Software Developers and immersed in significant project work directly representative of trading system development at Five Rings. They will also gain valuable technology knowledge with classroom training. Proficiency with C or C++ and Linux is preferred. Proficiency with Python is required. Annual Base Salary: $300,000.
