Sr. Staff application engineer for position in HiRel product group. Primary responsibilities will include supporting existing analog products as well as new product developments for the space market. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Applications Engineering position will be responsible for three main functions: Device Characterization (50% of time): You will work with a very talented team of Engineers to perform various lab tests for the characterization of the different products. Prepare the validation plan and compile validation reports upon complete of bench testing/characterization. It is important to understand how the parts are tested to be able to understand their performance when assisting customers. This knowledge will aid in setting up the customer’s exact configuration for verification and characterization of a customer’s issue. Documentation (20% of time): You will utilize FrameMaker for generating and editing Data Sheets and then work with the Technical Documentation to publish them. You will be expected to keep accurate lab notes (software of your choice) and document any test procedures for future reference. As you progress in your learning, you will be expected to generate and publish Technical Briefs, Application Notes, Customers Responses, and possibly Articles. Customer Support (20% of time): You will work with marketing and sales to facilitate the design-in of our products as well as provide technical assistance to address customer questions and analyze field returns. You will train Field Application Engineers on products and demonstrations systems to enhance sales channel effectiveness. New Product Definition (10%) Work with Marketing, Customer, Design and Product engineering teams to help define new products. JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS: Need for candidate is time sensitive and therefore preferred to be a US citizen or have a green card. Provide technical leadership across disciplines and communicate complex findings clearly to engineering, product and business teams. 10+ years of relevant experience in power conversion, power management, semiconductor applications or related system design. Strong experience in the design, modeling, development and laboratory validation of high-performance power converters across low-voltage and high-voltage domains. Deep understanding of control-loop design, stability analysis, transient response and implementation constraints. Solid knowledge of resonant and non-resonant power conversion topologies, including the ability to evaluate topology trade-offs at system level. Experience with magnetic component selection or design and an understanding of the relationship between magnetics, switching frequency, efficiency, thermal performance and power density. Ability to move effectively from concept and simulation to hardware implementation, measurement and product definition. Key Responsibilities ·Facilitate Customer Quality Issues and Internal Quality issues to drive Corrective & Preventive Actions. ·Facilitate Quality Planning Process [PFMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis, Quality Gate] for new process setup. ·Manage Incoming Quality Control (IQC) activities. ·Coordinate Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT), product qualification, reliability assessment, and related failure investigations. ·Monitor Quality KPIs and coordinate Continuous Improvement activities. ·Perform Quality Audits to ensure compliances, process effectiveness, and elimination of Quality Risks. Qualifications and Skills ·Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Electronics Engineering. ·Knowledge on FMEA, 8D, MSA, SPC ·Basic understanding on Manufacturing / Test Engineering principles, Process Improvements [Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma] ·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and teamwork ability.
