Position Overview SteerBridge is seeking a Data Scientist (Mid-Level) to support the Modern Disability Claims program. This role independently owns analytical projects from problem framing through model deployment, applying statistical modeling and machine learning to claims and healthcare data in support of VA disability claims processing. Key Responsibilities Independently design, build, and validate statistical and machine learning models to support claims and healthcare data analysis Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on claims, clinical, and healthcare datasets Manage assigned analytical projects from problem framing through model deployment with minimal oversight Debug and resolve data pipeline, model, and analysis issues of moderate complexity Begin mentoring junior data scientists on modeling techniques and coding standards Collaborate with data engineers and architects to source, integrate, and validate data for modeling Document model design, assumptions, performance, and validation results Present findings and model results to technical and non-technical stakeholders Contribute to sprint/team planning and provide status updates on assigned work Required Qualifications Eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements.
