We are seeking a platform engineer to join our Edge & Networking squad. This team owns everything that happens at the network perimeter: API gateway, routing, load balancing, DNS, and secure global traffic distribution. You'll design, build, and operate systems that are both robust and highly automated — enabling us to to scale reliably while maintaining low latency and high availability across our global infrastructure. You will work closely with other infrastructure and product teams to ensure seamless integration, observability, and performance of our edge services. What You’ll Be Responsible for: Help build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering; Design and implement Supabase’s global edge router platform; Build programmable, API-driven routing logic to dynamically steer customer traffic; Work with DNS, WAF, IP networking, TLS termination, CDN integrations, and global load balancing; Implement advanced observability: relevant metric and log capturing, latency measurements, traffic shaping, routing health, and failure mitigation. Optimize routing performance to minimize latency and improve reliability across cloud regions. Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to integrate networking solutions into the entire Supabase stack; Improve our system architecture to reduce costs while balancing security, reliability, and performance; Design CI/CD systems to speed up deployments with proper change and release management processes; Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews for edge-related issues; Resolve escalated support issues, while also identifying and resolving systemic issues across the platform. You might be a fit if you have: 5+ years experience in SRE/DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure; 4+ years experience building and operating high-scale networking or edge infrastructure; Strong experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS certificate management, CDN internals, load balancing, and global routing; Proficiency with traffic proxies / routers (e.g., Envoy, NGINX, HAProxy, Traefik, or building your own); Experience designing systems for high availability, failover, and real-time observability; Strong software engineering skills (Go); Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems; Knowledge of IPv6, BGP, Anycast, or advanced routing protocols; Experience in managing large deployments on AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar; Comfortable with cloud networking primitives (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar); Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Pulumi preferred, Terraform/CDK etc also acceptable); Experience with being part of on-call rotations for large production systems. What Are We Looking For We’re looking for a Platform Security Engineer to join our team and help strengthen the security of Supabase’s infrastructure, cloud platform, Kubernetes environments, and containerized workloads as we continue to scale. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, platform, SRE, product engineering, and technical leadership , helping us proactively reduce risk across the systems that run Supabase. This role is ideal for someone who has deep hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and large cloud environments and is excited about securing developer infrastructure without slowing teams down. Success in this role means improving the security posture of the platform through pragmatic engineering, clear technical judgment, and scalable guardrails. What You’ll Be Responsible for In this role, you’ll: Identify and reduce security risk across AWS, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and platform infrastructure. Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and technical risk assessments for platform and infrastructure systems. Partner closely with infrastructure, platform, and SRE teams to design practical controls and secure-by-default patterns. Improve Kubernetes and container security across areas like workload isolation, RBAC, admission control, secrets, network policy, and runtime hardening. Assess container runtime and Linux isolation risks, including capabilities, seccomp/AppArmor, namespaces, cgroups, and container escape scenarios. Strengthen AWS security posture across IAM, account boundaries, network controls, logging, detection, encryption, and service configuration. Build scalable mechanisms such as automation, guardrails, paved paths, detection, secure defaults, and review frameworks. Distinguish between theoretical risk and material platform risk to prioritize security efforts effectively. You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have senior-level experience in platform security, cloud security, infrastructure security, container security, or security engineering . Have deep practical experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and Linux security fundamentals . Have worked in large cloud environments , multi-cluster Kubernetes setups, developer platforms, SaaS platforms, or high-scale infrastructure teams. Can reason clearly about identity, networking, workload isolation, runtime security, secrets, supply chain, and blast radius . Communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences, especially in a written, asynchronous environment . Are able to manage security efforts across complex projects with various stakeholders Are energized by solving real-world infrastructure security problems and navigating ambiguity while moving quickly. About the Role We’re building a high-performance CI/CD execution platform similar to runners used by tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, and Blacksmith CI. Our platform executes developer pipelines reliably at scale, integrates deeply with source control, and automates build, test, and deployment workflows. In this role, you will design and build the distributed systems responsible for running CI/CD pipelines securely and efficiently. This includes orchestrating ephemeral compute environments, managing build isolation, scheduling jobs across fleets of workers, and ensuring reliability at scale. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in async, fast-paced environments and is excited about building developer tools that scale to millions. What You’ll Be Responsible For Design and improve the core orchestration engine that manages the lifecycle of creating, merging, and rebasing Supabase Branches . Provision ephemeral sandboxed execution environment on EKS / ECS for running untrusted build workloads from connected git repositories with securely managed secrets. Implement job scheduling that scale to thousands of concurrent builds. Optimize and reduce pipeline runtimes with caching, artifact storage, and dependency reuse. Manage retry, timeout, cancellation, and failure-propagation logic to ensure pipelines behave predictably under failure conditions. Instrument the full pipeline lifecycle with observability tooling to surface traces, metrics, and structured logs to the end user. Develop configuration files (JSON / TOML) and integrations (Terraform / Pulumi) that allow teams to easily define, trigger, and inspect pipelines in code. You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have strong software engineering skills (Go and Typescript required); Have 3+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale; Have cloud Infrastructure knowledge - familiarity with AWS constructs is required, past experience using the AWS SDKs and IaC tools (Pulumi, Terraform, etc) to build and operate infrastructure is strongly preferred. About the Role We are seeking a platform engineer to join our Compute Capacity team. This team owns the capacity plan that keeps compute supply ahead of demand across every region we operate in — the forecasting, buffer policy, and provisioning systems that make sure a project never runs into a wall it didn't know was there. You'll work on the systems that turn a capacity plan into provisioned reality: reservation acquisition, fleet reconciliation, and the automation that keeps what we've committed to in sync with what we're actually running. You'll help build the metrics and alerting that let capacity problems surface months out, on vendor lead time, rather than at the moment someone needs the room. You'll design, build, and operate systems that are both robust and highly automated — helping us hold the right buffer at the right cost, catch drift before it becomes a shortage, and give every team a single, trustworthy view of how much room we have across the millions of databases we manage. What You'll Be Responsible For Help build and maintain the capacity plan that keeps Supabase's compute supply ahead of demand across regions and instance families Support buffer policy by modeling headroom targets and their cost tradeoffs for review and sign-off Build and maintain automation that turns the capacity plan into provisioned reality — reservation acquisition and top-up, fleet reconciliation, drift detection between committed and running capacity Extend our infrastructure as code for capacity-relevant provisioning Instrument capacity: build and maintain metrics for saturation, reservation coverage, idle buffer, forecast error, and provisioning latency Build and tune capacity alerting so headroom, quota, and reservation issues surface months out rather than at the moment of impact Support the demand gate — helping intake large customer commitments, launches, migrations, and new regions so they reach the plan before they reach the fleet Contribute to mitigation projects: right-sizing, instance-family migrations, autoscaling improvements, workload consolidation Help drive down compute cost per database through right-sizing, placement, and commitment coverage work Participate in capacity incident response and post-incident follow-through You Might Be A Good Fit If You Have 5+ years across infrastructure engineering, SRE, platform, or capacity engineering, ideally at SaaS or cloud infrastructure scale Have production software engineering experience — you've owned and operated a service , not just a notebook.
