The internship program offers assignments to optimize your skills and experience while giving you exposure to multiple business areas. Job Description As an Investments IT Application Engineer Intern , you will have the opportunity to expand your IT understanding beyond the classroom in a dynamic environment where technology and business come together to deliver software and data solutions that support Thrivent's Investments and Asset Management business. You will collaborate daily with Agile Scrum teams and work alongside Application Engineers, analysts, and business partners to develop, test, support, and enhance technology solutions. Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience designing and maintaining applications, supporting data pipelines and integrations, solving technical challenges, and learning how technology enables investment operations. You will participate in a collaborative environment that helps refine the skills gained through your academic experiences while learning how technology professionals work at Thrivent. Responsibilities Assist with the design, development, enhancement, testing, and maintenance of software applications and data solutions Support development efforts using technologies such as Python, R, Java, SQL, or similar tools Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including planning, standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Analyze and troubleshoot application, data, and system issues Assist with testing software applications, APIs, system integrations, and data workflows Support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reporting processes Contribute to the development of data pipelines, integrations, and automation solutions Work with business partners, analysts, architects, and engineers to support business-driven technology solutions Maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and operational procedures Become knowledgeable about and apply Thrivent's development standards, processes, and best practices Position Requirements Current Junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028 Proven history of strong academic performance (GPA 3.0+ preferred) Exposure to one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, R, SQL, or similar technologies Foundational knowledge of software development concepts and database design Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Ability to work in the United States for an indefinite period without sponsorship Additional Program Information Competitive compensation: $27.00

The applicable hourly wage range for this full-time role is $27.00-$30.00 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
