About the Team Atlas is the founding engineering team responsible for the Maps mandate at Verkada. Our mission is to transform the physical world into a high-performance, interactive digital twin. We build the Spatial Systems —the core rendering engine, tiling infrastructure, and collaborative APIs—that power the visual interface for our entire product ecosystem. The Platform Mandate Atlas does not build siloed features. We build a Spatial Platform that our core Product Teams—including Cameras, Access Control, Sensors, Alarms, and Admin —use as their canvas. You will be responsible for ensuring that as we scale to 8+ product lines, the map remains a performant, unified, and "multiplayer" experience. What You’ll Do Zero-to-One Execution: Act as a "Player-Coach" to build the V1 of our Spatial System from the ground up. About the Role The Storage team owns the distributed infrastructure that transforms every Verkada camera into an intelligent, self-contained recording device. We are the experts in edge storage, responsible for designing and optimizing systems that manage video data directly on the camera. Our mandate is to guarantee unmatched reliability, endurance, and security of local storage media, ensuring video is preserved instantly and securely — even during network outages. We deliver the efficiency required to store petabytes of high-quality video across millions of deployed cameras, making sure every byte is stored reliably and accessible instantly. As the Engineering Manager for Storage Systems, you will lead a highly technical team responsible for the software and infrastructure powering Verkada’s on-camera storage stack. About this Role As a Hardware Engineer on our hardware team, you will lead the design and development of Verkada’s newest products.
