Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you won’t just be testing - you’ll be designing the future of quality at Zensurance. The Core Group is the engine room of our platform, consisting of three specialized teams: Docs, Renewals and Pricing, and Core Red. Together, we build and maintain the robust insurance data suite, business rules, and documentation that define our customers' policies. Our stack is primarily MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node), and we’ve recently adopted PostgreSQL and BullMQ to push our capabilities even further. In this role, you will develop broad familiarity with Zensurance's systems and codebases, coach and mentor team members, and partner with Engineering Leadership to continuously improve the quality and capability of the Application Support function. We are looking for a Senior Software Developer, Data to join our Data team in the Engineering Department! The Senior Software Developer, Data is a senior-level individual contributor, reporting to the Team Lead, Data. In this role you will own the systems and infrastructure that the Data team depends on to operate effectively — including warehouse infrastructure, CI/CD automation, developer environments, data quality frameworks, and the data catalog. Working closely with the Tech Lead and Data Analysts, the Senior Software Developer, Data ensures that data arrives in Snowflake reliably, that infrastructure is managed as code, and that the team can move fast without accumulating operational debt. This role is platform-first: the output is a foundation that makes the rest of the Data team faster, more reliable, and better equipped to build data products that serve the business. This custom solution supports diverse use cases for all key stakeholders, from customers and brokers to underwriters, carriers, and claims teams. While the platform utilizes PostgreSQL as its primary source of truth, it seamlessly integrates with a robust ecosystem of third-party SaaS applications. This includes a heavily customized Salesforce instance for broker management and Zendesk for ticketing, alongside a long tail of integrations spanning payment gateways, ERPs, marketing CRMs, automation tools, and telephony systems. We're looking for a Staff Software Developer - Integration to join our Engineering Team! Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role will own integrations design and strategy, including Salesforce and its neighbours as production distributed systems. Our Core team is responsible for the engine driving the company’s key goals such as adding more relevant insurance products with great prices on our website and delivering relevant insurance documents to our customers with ease. The Payments Team is responsible for understanding, evaluating, and improving our checkout experience which includes customer data confirmation, e-sign, financing, payment collection and invoicing integrations backed by third-party solutions As a Tech Lead, you will bring deep technical expertise to help steer the Engineering team's technical direction, reinforcing our culture of iterative, autonomous development and deployment. Your primary focus will be on addressing security and scalability considerations, collaborating closely with the Product Manager, Team Lead, Engineers, and Staff Developers to design and implement systems and processes that enable your team to deliver effectively. As a senior member of the team, you can articulate your thinking clearly, discuss complex ideas with ease, and manage your time well to meet important deadlines while also mentoring other team members as needed.
