Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & People Development Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of machine vision, AI/ML, and software engineers located in Bangalore. Drive data collection, validation, model training, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement activities. Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with product requirements. Partner with global engineering and product teams to deliver production-ready AI/ML solutions. Contribute to MLOps, model governance, and engineering best practices. Product Development & Execution Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Program Management, and Systems Engineering teams to deliver product commitments. Translate business and customer requirements into engineering tasks and project plans. Drive timely execution of software and algorithm development activities. Improve engineering productivity through automation, common frameworks, component reuse, and best practices. Support release planning, effort estimation, risk management, and issue resolution. Quality & Engineering Excellence Ensure compliance with Wabtec engineering processes, RAILS requirements, cybersecurity standards, and quality expectations. Promote software engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and documentation. Monitor engineering metrics and proactively address quality, reliability, and delivery challenges. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and process issues. Global Collaboration Partner closely with the US-based Senior Manager of Machine Vision Algorithms and other global engineering leaders. Collaborate effectively across distributed teams in North America, India, and other regions. Participate in technical reviews, release planning, and strategic engineering discussions. Provide status updates, technical recommendations, and execution visibility to leadership. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related STEM discipline. 8+ years of experience in Machine Vision, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, or related areas. 3+ years of people leadership or technical team management experience. Experience developing and delivering production-quality software solutions. Strong experience with Python and modern software development practices. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or related discipline. Experience with OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, or equivalent machine vision frameworks. Knowledge of image segmentation, object detection, classification, camera calibration, feature extraction, and image enhancement techniques. Experience with cloud platforms and containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with MLOps, model lifecycle management, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience developing AI/ML solutions for industrial, transportation, manufacturing, or predictive maintenance applications. About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Systems Engineer/ Lead Systems Integrator to join our Systems and Design organization, responsible for end-to-end engineering functions across all major disciplines, including systems engineering, hardware design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and cross-functional integration. This role is pivotal in driving the development and customization of our KinetiX Wayside Inspection products to meet specific customer needs and enhance overall product performance. The System Engineer will join a group of talented engineers from multiple disciplines and collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and third-party experts to deliver high-impact solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Product Design & Standardization Own and evolve the base product architecture , ensuring standardization across mechanical, electronic, and system components to drive scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and enhancement of Train Handling solutions while applying sound systems engineering principles and established product development processes. Elicit, analyze, define, and manage customer and system requirements, ensuring alignment with product objectives, operational needs, and business priorities. Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Software Engineering, Train Control, Office Systems, Safety, Validation, and Applications Engineering, to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule. Drive requirements reviews, design reviews, technical assessments, and verification and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues by analyzing system performance, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Plan and execute field testing, validation, and operational evaluations to ensure solutions meet customer expectations and performance requirements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering deliverables, project status updates, and system specifications. Collaborate directly with railroad customers, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions. Apply industry standards, engineering best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve product capabilities, reliability, and performance. Leverage AI-enabled tools and technologies to accelerate analysis, improve engineering productivity, support decision-making, and enhance product innovation. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles throughout the product development lifecycle. Experience working with software, controls, automation, transportation, embedded, or safety-critical systems. Familiarity with systems architecture, requirements management, verification and validation, and systems integration activities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions. Experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines and managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to apply AI-enabled tools, advanced analytics, or data-driven approaches to improve engineering outcomes. Working knowledge of railroad operations, train control systems, AAR standards, CENELEC standards, or other transportation industry regulations is preferred. Role Summary/Purpose: Embedded Lead Software Engineer is responsible for design, coding and testing of locomotive system embedded applications. This role will perform design reviews and release software following Wabtec software process and guidelines. Essential Responsibilities: As an Embedded Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for writing software, resolving software related issues coming from testing, production and field, performing reviews and releasing software. You will follow configuration management processes, use tools and best practices and ensure software quality for customers.
