In this role you will: Travel is so much more than simply reaching your destination. Along the journey, you'll utilize your technical skills to develop next-generation technologies through our web applications and e-commerce sites. You will be empowered to make an immediate impact by creating high-volume, scalable solutions and work with teams to iterate on features quickly and efficiently. From the back-end supply and database functions to new user interfaces for more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of opportunity for technical innovation at Expedia Group. Design, develop, and test software components and services under the guidance of more experienced engineers, contributing to well-scoped features and improvements. Implement clean, maintainable code using standard software engineering practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and basic debugging. Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for assigned tasks, learning how to translate requirements into technical solutions. Collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements, break down work, and deliver incremental value. Apply fundamental data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques to improve code quality, performance, and reliability. Leverage AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows, including safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions to improve outcomes within defined guidance and scope. Minimum Qualifications: Must be available to commit to the full program dates: May 24th – July 30th or June 21st – August 27th Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology) between December 2027 and July 2028 Must be willing to relocate to the city of the job location if outside commuting distance and be graduating from a university in the same country as the internship location. Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role. Preferred Qualifications: Helpful to be familiar with basic concepts of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Kotlin, Java, Python, etc) Helpful to have knowledge of data structures, algorithms and OOP concepts Helpful to have effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people) What We Offer: Successful candidates will receive a competitive compensation package including the benefits below and others: The compensation for this position in Seattle is $45 per hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and $51 per hour for candidates with a Master’s degree. The compensation for this position in Austin is $45 per hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and $51 per hour for candidates with a Master’s degree. The compensation for this position in San Jose is $49 per hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and $54 per hour for candidates with a Master’s degree. As this is an intern role, this compensation is fixed.
