About the role: What's in the Box As the Engineering Manager for the Deliveries squad at HelloFresh, you will lead the engineering vision and execution for how customers control their box week to week. Your squad owns the systems that keep a subscription flexing with the customer's life: skip, pause and resume, reschedule, delivery cadence, delivery day, and address changes — the controls a customer uses before an order locks in at cutoff — along with the home and delivery feed that surfaces them. What you’ll bring: The Ingredients You have led a team in an agile environment (5+ engineers), ideally within a cross-functional squad setup. You bring 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience. Deep experience building scalable microservices and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), especially where correctness, idempotency, and data consistency are critical — such as scheduling, subscription management, or other transactional domains. Experience designing and operating high-throughput backend systems that other teams and customer-facing surfaces depend on. The team is responsible for the systems and guardrails that let HelloFresh handle customer data responsibly at scale. Consent management, Data subject rights, Data retention and minimization, PII discovery and classification, and privacy-by-design tooling embedded into the Hellofresh flows that touch millions of customers globally.
