About Hightouch Hightouch is an Agentic Marketing Platform powered by the industry-leading Composable CDP. With complete brand context, customer data, and performance history in one place, every marketer finally has the power to build and ship end-to-end campaigns themselves. Teams move faster, stay on brand, and get AI marketing that actually works. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco, Hightouch enables marketing teams to analyze performance, brainstorm ideas, and generate creative at a speed and quality that wasn't previously possible. Named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Customer Data Platforms, Hightouch is trusted by leading enterprises like Domino's, Spotify, Aritzia, Cars.com, Ramp, and PetSmart. At Hightouch, our mission is to help our customers leverage data and AI to grow their businesses. The team is ambitious, impact-driven, efficient — and we believe humility, kindness, and compassion are essential to our success. If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you. About the Role We are looking for a developer productivity engineer to take responsibility for our monorepo and the “path to production” for over 50 engineers pushing over 75 commits a day with continuous deployment to production. This presents an exciting challenge where you can apply your expertise in helping teams ship fast and safe to meaningfully improve the productivity of our engineering team. This role also provides a unique opportunity to work on a multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructure that supports a global customer base. Our monorepo is primarily Javascript/Typescript with some Go and Python. While the primary responsibility of this job is developer productivity, to fit in with the team and be productive in our codebase generally, strong computer science and development fundamentals will be required. As part of your onboarding, you’ll spend significant time writing and delivering features to gain empathy for the current dev flow. We believe in enabling our engineers to do their best work for our customers by giving them extremely high levels of ownership and autonomy. This comes in different forms: you will own and deliver projects from start to finish, you will work directly with customers to solve their hardest scaling problems, and you will have a lot of influence over what we work on as a team and company. Some of the problems we’ll be working on include: Own the build : You’ll be the single threaded owner for the build/test/deploy of our software and how each team fits into it Monorepo productivity: Detangle our build/test/deploy patterns so teams can move fast and not block each other. Investigate/implement a tool like turbo repo to speed builds and separate concerns Drive excellence in testing: We need to improve our top-down and team-level views into test coverage + support an ever growing matrix of data sources, data destinations, and enrichment patterns. An excellent engineer in this role will be able to “hold up a mirror” to our dev teams, helping each team understand where they have gaps Multi-Region and Multi-Cloud: Supporting our multi-region and multi-cloud backend, including extending it to launch Hightouch on in new regions to support data residency requirements of our global customer base Operational excellence: Support an increase in our ability to catch issues before they reach production and respond quickly if they do We are looking for talented, intellectually curious, and motivated individuals who are interested in tackling the problems above. This is a senior role, but we focus on impact and potential for growth more than years of experience. The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $400,000 USD per year, which is location independent in accordance with our remote-first policy. We also offer meaningful equity compensation. About You You are an engineer with a passion for solving hard technical problems that generate real value for customers. You’re motivated by high ownership and are comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment. You’ve driven significant improvement in the productivity of a 50+ person development team by making high-leverage changes to their build/test/deploy processes. While you likely have some infra chops, this is not an infra role: you have strong development fundamentals and are comfortable driving framework-level improvements across multiple teams. This could take several forms: You’ve been a member of a developer-productivity team/function for an outstanding development team You’ve organically become “the build person” at a fast-growing startup and helped bring order to chaos You’ve personally delivered code that has improved cross-team metrics related to developer productivity (e.g., DORA metrics, coverage, etc) In addition to any of the above, we’re looking for someone who can dive into feature code, including complicated backend code, as needed. Interview Process Our goal with the interview process is to balance speed with giving both parties opportunities to assess whether there is a strong mutual fit. We will ask you questions, but we want you to ask us questions! Our technical interviews focus on how you design systems because we believe this is the best way for us to see how you work and for you to see how we collaborate. We don’t ask you to write code to solve technical brainteasers that don’t appear in your day to day job. Apply: Curl jobapi.hightouchdata.com on port 13784 and have followed those instructions before applying. It'll only take a minute! Recruiter Screen: Introductory call with our recruiting team to get to know each other and see if the role could be a good mutual fit System Design Screen: Designing a data processing feature end-to-end. Developer Productivity Skills Interview: We’ll dive into your experience making teams productive through a discussion of past projects and tooling you've used. Hiring Manager Interview: Chat with hiring manager about past experiences and future operating preferences to assess fit on company values and operating principles. System Design Interview: Work with the interviewer to architect a system at a conceptual level. The problem will be at a pretty high level - and have both product and customer requirements as well as technical. We have limited inbound applications to one application per candidate. You will be auto-rejected if you apply to multiple roles. Please only apply to the position you are most qualified for. E-Verify Statement Hightouch participates in E-Verify. After you join the team, we'll verify your eligibility to work in the U.S. by submitting information from your Form I-9 to the Social Security Administration and, if needed, the Department of Homeland Security. About the Role We are looking for a software engineer to join our Streaming Systems team, working on the high-throughput systems that collect, forward, and perform real time computation on billions of behavioral events from our customers’ users. You'll be building the infrastructure that ingests clickstream, product interaction, and transactional data into our platform. This data is the platform for our “Cursor for Marketers” AI agent product. Our streaming products’ revenue has 10x’d over the past year, and we need to ensure that we continue to scale. Our infrastructure needs to handle millions of messages per second at single second latency end to end. If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you. About the Role We are looking for a software engineer to help us build the SDKs, on-device experiences, and backend systems that power how marketers reach their customers inside native apps and on the web. This is a foundational role. You'll be one of the first engineers on this surface area and you'll have a strong hand in shaping how we design our SDKs, what they expose to host applications, and how they integrate with the rest of the Hightouch platform. We give our engineers high ownership and autonomy. You will own and deliver projects start to finish, work directly with customers integrating our SDKs into their apps, and have real influence over what we build. Building a great SDK requires reasoning about the full round-trip between the device and our backend: how events are collected, how eligibility is evaluated, how messages are delivered, and how the host application renders them. You'll co-design the API and backend alongside the rest of the team. Some of the problems we'll be working on: Cross-channel orchestration on-device. Deciding what a user sees, on which device, at which moment, without channels stepping on each other or one user getting hit five times in a session. In-app messaging and custom UX. Custom messaging and on-device experiences triggered while a user is active in a customer's app. The SDK evaluates eligibility locally against rules pushed down from our backend. Behavioral data collection. Custom events, screen views, and user attributes batched on-device and shipped to our backend to feed real-time targeting. SDK developer experience. Clear init, sane defaults, useful errors, and docs that respect the host engineer's time. Versioning and distribution that doesn't break customer app builds. This is a senior role, but we focus on impact and potential for growth more than years of experience. The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $400,000 USD per year, which is location independent in accordance with our remote-first policy. We also offer meaningful equity compensation. About You You're motivated by high ownership and comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment. You don't need to already know how to do everything in this role. We are primarily looking for smart, motivated people who want to grow into the work. That said, useful experience includes any of the following: Native development across iOS, Android, or React Native, with enthusiasm for working across all of them and learning what you don't already know Shipping an SDK or library that other developers integrated into their own applications Designing systems that span a server, a network, and a client, where the same problem looks different on each side and the contract between them matters as much as the code E-Verify Statement Hightouch participates in E-Verify. About Hightouch Hightouch is an Agentic Marketing Platform powered by the industry-leading Composable CDP. About the Role Customer Studio is Hightouch’s second major product that provides a purpose-built no-code suite of features that enables anyone, regardless of their SQL experience, to activate data directly from their warehouse. The product has become an essential part of the day-to-day operations for marketing and growth teams to build and measure audiences and campaigns, and it also serves as part of the underlying infrastructure that powers our agentic marketing workflows. The team blends product and customer-first thinking with challenges at high data scale, helping us reimagine marketing in an AI-native world. We’re looking to add a product-minded backend engineer to the team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable diving deep into backend and distributed systems and think holistically about architecture, scalability, maintainability, and reliability. We also are looking for someone with strong customer and product thinking and who feels comfortable writing and engaging with product specs. Some of the problems we’ll be working on include: Data Warehouse Performance: We’re consistently pushing the limits of what data warehouses can handle in terms of speed, performance, and interactivity. We explore optimizations generally (e.g. optimizing queries, storing pre-computed state), as well as investigate warehouse-specific improvements. Analytics and Experimentation: How can Hightouch help customers build segments and decide what data they want to sync? How can we facilitate experimentation to downstream tools, including tracking the performance of different audiences? Real-time Audience Syncing: Our users are always interested in faster syncing and fresher data. As warehouses become more real-time and adopt technologies like CDC, we’re excited to explore real-time audience computation and syncing. Generative AI: We’re continuously working on making the user experience of acting on data more seamless, and are optimistic generative AI can enhance user workflows. We are looking for talented, intellectually curious, and motivated individuals who are interested in tackling the problems above. If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you. About the Role In the last 12-18 months, Hightouch has been adopted by larger and larger customers and enterprises. These enterprises have both high data scale as well as complex organizations with many individuals and teams using Hightouch on a daily basis. The Control Plane team focuses on building user-friendly but powerful tools and products for enterprises to efficiently onboard onto Hightouch and manage and scale their Hightouch deployments. We’re looking to add a product-minded backend engineer to the team. How can we help admins better understand and optimize warehouse performance and costs as a result of Hightouch activity? We are looking for talented, intellectually curious, and motivated individuals who are interested in tackling the problems above. This is a senior role, but we focus on impact and potential for growth more than years of experience. Recruiter Screen [30m]: Introductory call with our recruiting team to get to know each other and see if the role could be a good mutual fit. System Design Screen [60m]: Designing a data processing feature end-to-end. Hiring Manager Interview [30m]: Chat with hiring manager about past experiences and future operating preferences to assess fit on company values and operating principles. System Design Interview [90m]: Work with the interviewer to architect a system at a conceptual level. This process happens post-hire only — we never use E-Verify to pre-screen applicants. E-Verify Notice E-Verify Notice (Spanish) Right to Work Notice Right to Work Notice (Spanish)

If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you. About the Role We are looking for an engineering leader to lead machine learning efforts across Hightouch. While hundreds of companies use Hightouch today to sync data into their SaaS systems to automate and improve operations, there’s a lot of surface area we haven’t touched in helping companies figuring out which customers to message, what content to put in messages, and when to send messages. A lot of this work today is done manually through intuition and guesswork, and we believe that adding machine learning could have a step function impact for our customers. And given our access to data warehouses and databases, Hightouch is perfectly placed to make use of a company’s customer data in building a powerful intelligence layer. At Hightouch, our engineering leaders serve as both active technical voices and strong people managers. The key outcomes we are looking for from this role include: Product Development: Lead the team in roadmapping and executing successful development of significant features and products as required to drive the business forward. Uphold a high technical bar, while making pragmatic tradeoffs Pace: Through a combination of leadership and technical expertise, improve the pace of execution of the team Recruiting: Be responsible for growing the team, including identifying needs, deciding how to evaluate candidates, and ensuring we hire high impact team members Reliability: Against the uphill battle of high growth/scale, up-level the team on reliability, resulting in fewer incidents, catching our own issues before our customers do, and a strong incident management hygiene People: Foster growth of team members and ensure strong engagement and motivation Some of the problems we’ll be working on include: Personalization and Product Recommendation : There are often many options for what content a company could message a user with, including which products to show from catalogues. Given this large state space, how can Hightouch help personalize messages with the most relevant content for each user? Probabilistic Identity Resolution: Many of our customers have multiple datasets and sources of information on their users. How do we stitch these datasets together and decide which profiles are from the same user or household? Content Generation : Particularly with recent advances in LLMs, how can we help marketers generate text, images, and creatives that are compelling to their customers? ML Infrastructure: Building the infrastructure to support model training and inference at scale for some of the largest companies in the world. What We Offer We are looking for talented, intellectually curious, and motivated individuals who are interested in tackling the problems above. This is a senior role, but we focus on impact and potential for growth more than years of experience. The salary range for this position is $230,000 - $400,000 USD per year, which is location independent in accordance with our remote-first policy. We also offer meaningful equity compensation. We have limited inbound applications to one application per candidate. You will be auto-rejected if you apply to multiple roles. Please only apply to the position you are most qualified for.
