The Position: The Ubiquiti Kaunas office is looking for a talented and self-driven embedded C/C++ developer focused on Wi-Fi. You’ll bring experience, enthusiasm, and creativity to solve brand-new problems, think beyond the obvious, and make things work—even when the solution isn’t straightforward. Responsibilities: Build firmware for new Wi-Fi 6, 6E and WiFi 7 access points and routers; Collaborate with global firmware, hardware, RF, and product teams to deliver cutting-edge wireless networking products; Develop and maintain user-space services and libraries, management daemons, and integrations with hostapd and wpa_supplicant; Integrate third-party components and chipset SDKs into our OpenWrt-based firmware and build systems; Maintain and improve existing product firmware, focusing on stability, performance, security, and maintainability; Work closely with hardware and RF engineers on bring-up, calibration, validation, and issue investigation; Optimize roaming, mesh networking, airtime fairness, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, DFS, automatic channel selection, and QoS/WMM; Diagnose complex laboratory and field issues using logs, packet captures, tracing, and on-device profiling. Requirements: 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience using C or C++; Strong understanding of Linux internals, including processes, memory management, networking, netlink, and event-driven I/O; Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP, routing, firewalls, and traffic control; Experience with Wi-Fi standards and concepts, including IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), WPA2/WPA3, EAP, and SAE; Experience with Git, cross-compilation, toolchains, and embedded build systems such as OpenWrt or Buildroot; Experience with AI tools - Claude, Codex, etc; Fluent in English and Lithuanian. Nice to have: Linux wireless or driver experience involving mac80211, cfg80211, NL80211, ath10k; ath11k or mt76; Hands-on experience customizing hostapd, wpa_supplicant, or their control interfaces; Experience with Qualcomm Atheros, MediaTek, or comparable chipset SDKs and board bring-up; Understanding of RF fundamentals, including link budget, SNR, MCS, spectral analysis, regulatory domains and DFS; Experience with 802.11s, EasyMesh, band steering, client steering, or 882.11k/v/r roaming optimization; Experience with Wireshark, tcpdump, radiotap, iPerf3, IxChariot, or automated wireless testing frameworks; Python or Bash scripting experience and familiarity with CI/CD systems. Role Summary We are looking for a highly driven Hardware Engineer who is passionate about innovation and eager to build extraordinary products. In this role, you will help design next-generation Storage Server solutions, including high-density NAS, SAN, and unified storage systems with real global impact. You will collaborate directly with R&D labs across multiple countries, bringing your expertise, energy, and creativity into every stage of development. Responsibilities Collaborate with a global cross-functional team—including industrial design, layout, mechanical, SI, BSP, thermal, DQA, and product management—to drive new product development from concept through mass production. Lead or contribute to system architecture for storage servers, owning schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout review to ensure ultra-high-speed signal integrity and robust high-power design. Design and validate high-density storage backplanes and connectivity solutions (e.g., NVMe/SATA/SAS topologies). Rapidly prototype concept hardware for mock-ups and feasibility studies; take a hands-on role in board bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation. Build and execute comprehensive hardware test and validation plans, focusing on data integrity and long-term storage reliability. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware challenges—from early-stage design issues to in-field anomalies—to ensure rock-solid performance and product reliability. Own and maintain the Hardware Requirements Document, ensuring a complete and accurate definition of system-level and component-level specifications. Conduct competitive teardowns and feature benchmarking to inform product and architecture decisions. Requirement MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 8+ years of hands-on hardware development experience with a proven record of delivering production-grade designs. Strong foundation in core electrical engineering principles with demonstrated expertise in digital and analog circuit design. Deep experience in high-speed interface architecture and signal validation, including DDR5, PCIe Gen4/5/6, NVMe, SAS3/SAS4, and SATA3. Practical experience with high-speed SerDes (up to 56G/112G), server-grade CPUs (x86/ARM), and PCH/Chipset integration. Solid understanding of server power delivery (VRM, PMIC) and advanced thermal management for high-density systems. Solid understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC compliance design practices. Proficient with EDA tools for schematic and PCB development (e.g., OrCAD Capture, Cadence Allegro, Mentor PADS). Highly skilled with lab instrumentation—oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and comfortable with hands-on debugging. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional, and highly adaptive startup environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing hardware for enterprise-class storage systems, rackmount servers, or high-performance computing (HPC) platforms. Familiarity with BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), IPMI, and server management standards. Preferred Qualifications - Advanced Power Electronics: Deeper experience with switching topologies (buck / flyback / PFC), transformer & magnetics design, phase-cut / TRIAC dimming, and energy-metering ICs. - PMIC / Charger IC / Protection: PMIC, charger IC, and battery-protection circuit design. -Surge / Lightning / EMC for AC Products: Hands-on diagnosis of pre-compliance or certification failures on AC-side products (surge / EFT / ESD) — not just familiarity with the standards.

Requirement (Must-Haves) 3+ years of experience in cloud/backend development with Golang or Python. Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines or data processing workflows in production. Strong familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Kinesis, Glue, Athena, and RDS. Solid understanding of distributed systems, data streaming, and cloud-native architecture. Proficient in RESTful API development and microservices design. Experience with SQL and schema design for analytics and reporting use cases. Knowledge of version control and CI/CD practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and communication skills. Proficiency in AI development environments (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and expertise in AI development techniques, such as Spec-Driven Development, are required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time analytics systems and streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis. Familiarity with data lake architectures, data warehousing, and metadata management. Experience in data quality assurance, validation, and pipeline testing frameworks. Understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices. Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance in large-scale analytics environments.
