About the Role You will build and scale the backend systems powering a new generation of AI-driven physical security products. This includes designing the infrastructure and workflows that enable automated intrusion detection, real-time decisioning, and intelligent response systems across cameras, sensors, and audio streams.Your systems directly protect schools, hospitals, and businesses. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will own the architecture behind large-scale, low-latency systems that ingest, process, and act on multimodal data across Verkada’s cloud backend and global fleet of cameras and sensors. About the Role As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development of brand-new camera categories while driving the continued growth and reliability of our ever-expanding global fleet. You have a history of aligning diverse engineering verticals to deliver complex systems on aggressive timelines. Proven experience leading initial board bring-up and hardware-software co-design for first-generation embedded devices. About the Role We are looking for a seasoned Systems level Linux engineer / Linux internals expert to help us build our next generation of command connector product that turns any legacy camera into a cloud-native, AI-searchable node. Under the hood, it's managing dozens of concurrent video streams, translating disparate camera protocols into a single unified pipeline, and feeding all of it into CV models / inference run at the edge of the device itself. We currently support 100K+ customer cameras on this product and looking for more technical talent to help our growth. About the Role We are looking for a seasoned engineering manager to scale up an established team.
