Founded in 2017, CoreWeave became a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: CRWV) in March 2025. Learn more at www.coreweave.com . About the Team CoreWeave is The Essential Cloud for AI™ — the infrastructure that the world's leading AI labs, researchers, and enterprises depend on. The Developer Experience (DevEx) team owns the platform, services, and systems that enable every engineer at CoreWeave to build and ship software faster, more safely, and with greater confidence. Our scope spans the full developer lifecycle: onboarding, developer environments, CLIs, SDKs, CI (continuous integration) and build infrastructure, test experience, delivery systems, artifact storage and distribution, internal developer platforms, and the agentic AI tooling that is redefining how engineers move from idea to production. This is a high-leverage technical leadership role. You won't be operating tooling — you'll be designing and building the platforms other engineers depend on every day. The work you do will directly shape developer velocity, system reliability, and the agentic developer experience across a rapidly scaling engineering organization. What You'll Do Set technical direction for key DevEx platform subsystems. Drive architectural decisions across SDKs, CLIs, inner development loop, CI pipeline infrastructure, test experience, artifact management, developer environments, and agentic tooling. Lead multi-quarter initiatives from design through production. Design and build the core services that power developer productivity. Build pipeline services, test experience platforms, progressive rollout systems, artifact registries, ephemeral development environments, and the APIs that tie them together. Architect and evolve our agentic developer platform. Elevate agentic DevEx capabilities so engineers can delegate development tasks and move faster in an AI-native way. Build for real scale. DevEx systems must reliably serve thousands of application instances and engineering workflows across 40+ data centers with diverse infrastructure profiles. Mentor other senior and mid-level engineers, own design reviews, establish engineering patterns, and consistently raise the quality bar across the team. Partner closely with infrastructure, security, and product engineering teams to design and implement developer experience foundations that are fast, safe, and compliant at scale. Lead post-mortems and drive continuous improvement cycles that harden DevEx systems against failure modes and reduce operational burden for engineering teams. Set the standard for documentation and onboarding across the platform, so engineering teams at CoreWeave can discover, adopt, and self-serve the tools your team builds. What We're Looking For 6+ years of software engineering experience with building production platforms, developer tooling, delivery infrastructure, or distributed storage systems. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong systems design skills. You think in distributed services, event-driven architectures, and APIs. You approach developer platform problems as software engineering problems, not configuration exercises. Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages with production experience shipping services in cloud-native environments. Deep experience with Kubernetes. You understand how workloads are packaged, scheduled, and managed at the cluster level, and can design platform services that integrate at that layer. Experience with or strong technical interest in LLM-integrated developer tooling, such as agent frameworks, MCP-style tools, or AI-assisted developer workflows. Proven track record of setting technical direction, making sound architectural trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions that hold up as systems and teams scale. Effective cross-functional collaborator. You can align stakeholders, influence without authority, and translate complex technical trade-offs for technical and non-technical audiences alike. Experience mentoring engineers and consistently raising the technical quality bar of the teams you work on. Nice to Have Experience designing platform APIs, SDKs, or developer tools that were adopted broadly across an engineering organization. Experience building or extending CI and Build infrastructure at scale, including GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Bazel, or similar build systems. Experience designing and operating progressive delivery systems at scale, including SLO-based quality gates, automated multi-stage pipeline orchestration, and custom Kubernetes operators, across heterogeneous deployment environments. Hands-on experience with artifact management, including distributed storage, caching, versioning, or multi-region artifact distribution (e.g. JFrog Artifactory, Cloudsmith, or custom-built systems). Direct experience building agentic systems, including MCP servers, tool-augmented LLM workflows, and incorporating these capabilities into DevEx platform features with consistent value-add. Built for pioneers by pioneers, CoreWeave delivers a platform of technology, tools, and teams that enables innovators to build and scale AI with confidence. Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave combines superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability. Founded in 2017, CoreWeave became a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: CRWV) in March 2025. Learn more at www.coreweave.com . About the role: CoreWeave is the top-rated AI-cloud for high-performance GPU infrastructure across AI/ML, visual effects, rendering, and real-time inference. Our stack is engineered for speed, scale, and cost-efficiency—an unmatched alternative to traditional hyperscalers. At CoreWeave, infrastructure is the product. We're looking for a Senior Engineer for CoreWeave's Benchmarking & Performance team, focused on kernel authoring and optimization. You will write, profile, and tune the GPU kernels that sit on the critical path of large-scale model serving—squeezing maximum throughput and minimum latency out of every SM, tensor core, and byte of memory bandwidth. You will also aid us in achieving industry-leading end-to-end performance benchmarking publications such as MLPerf. You will be an owner who leads designs, raises engineering standards, and delivers measurable improvements to latency, throughput, and reliability across our inference stack. You'll partner with product, orchestration, and hardware teams to turn kernel-level wins into end-to-end gains and meet strict P99 SLAs at scale. Author, profile, and optimize CUDA kernels—GEMMs, attention, MoE routing, quantization, KV-cache, and fused epilogues—on the critical path of LLM inference. Optimize for the hardware: exploit tensor cores and tune occupancy, memory coalescing, shared-memory/register usage, and overlap of compute with data movement. Use kernel-authoring DSLs and compilers to prototype and ship kernels quickly without sacrificing performance. Benchmark rigorously: build reproducible microbenchmarks and roofline analyses, and validate that kernel-level wins translate to end-to-end latency/throughput gains across model-serving stacks (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, llm-d, SGLang). Implement and maintain benchmarking workflows for end-to-end MLPerf Inference (and Training) runs, including workload setup, cluster configuration, runbooks, and result validation. Lead design reviews and drive architecture within the team; decompose multi-service work into clear milestones. Mentor junior engineers; review cross-team designs and elevate coding/testing standards. Help ensure reproducible, well-documented benchmarking and kernel-optimization processes. Who You Are: 5+ years of experience building high-performance computing, GPU/accelerator software, or performance-critical systems. Hands-on CUDA experience is required—you have written and optimized custom kernels and are fluent with the CUDA programming and memory model. Deep understanding of GPU architecture and performance: tensor cores, warp/occupancy tuning, the memory hierarchy and bandwidth, NVLink/PCIe, and profiling with Nsight Compute/Systems. Strong coding in C++ and Python; comfortable reading and writing low-level, performance-sensitive code. Familiarity with model-serving stacks (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, llm-d, SGLang) and the kernels that dominate their inference cost. Strong communicator comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners. Preferred: Triton or Mojo for authoring custom GPU kernels — highly desired. CuTe DSL for Python-based kernel authoring on NVIDIA GPUs. JAX and its Pallas kernel language for authoring kernels on GPU/TPU. HIP / ROCm and AMD GPU experience. NCCL and collective-communication performance. Experience with alternative accelerators such as Google TPUs and Meta's MTIA. Familiarity with kernel-authoring DSLs and nano-compilers such as KNYFE and its Block DSL. Experience with Kubernetes at production scale. Experience with SUNK (Slurm on Kubernetes) / Slurm for scheduling large GPU jobs. Experience running MLPerf submissions or similar large-scale audited benchmarks. Contributions to OSS projects such as vLLM, SGLang, PyTorch, Triton, or CUTLASS. Wondering if you're a good fit? CoreWeave is The Essential Cloud for AI™. What You’ll Do: Applications Engineering, part of CoreWeave’s Data Infrastructure organization, builds the software CoreWeave uses to plan and operate its own infrastructure business. Some of that is UNION, our data platform, where anyone in the company can query the lakehouse in plain language and stand up their own dashboards, applications, and agents. The rest is the applications behind decisions like which data centers get which hardware and when, for a company adding gigawatts of capacity a year. Engineering, finance, supply chain, and data center operations all depend on what we ship. About the role: You will build full-stack applications, and features in UNION itself, and own all of it in production, from the interface down to the data model. Our stack is TypeScript with React and Next.js, Python services running on Kubernetes, and Postgres alongside the lakehouse. We care more that you have built and run this kind of software than which frameworks you built it in. A good share of the work is AI-facing, meaning natural language interfaces and agents that operate on governed data, plus the evaluation work that tells you whether they are any good. Owning a product area here means you sit with the people who run the process and work out with them what the software should do. You are also the one who answers for it when it breaks. Most of these processes have never been written down anywhere, so a fair amount of the job is working out what to build before you build it. Who You Are: 5+ years building and operating production software, including both backend services and modern web frontends Strong Python and TypeScript, with real experience in React, Next.js, or a comparable modern framework Experience designing and running HTTP APIs that other services depend on, including timeouts, retries, and keeping writes correct when a call fails partway through Strong SQL and relational data modeling, including schemas you had to change after they were already live Experience shipping LLM-backed features to production, including how you measured whether their output was correct Hands-on experience with containers and deployment tooling such as Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes, and with operating your own services Experience wiring applications up to data platforms and analytical databases such as Spark, Kafka, StarRocks, or Snowflake CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and on-call for the software you own Experience working directly with non-engineers on problems nobody had specified yet, and shipping software they adopted Preferred: Experience building AI-native applications such as text-to-SQL interfaces, copilots, agents, or automated insight generation Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, and with the tracing and evaluation tooling around them Experience designing and running distributed systems in cloud-native environments such as Kubernetes Familiarity with open table formats such as Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi, and with query engines such as StarRocks, Snowflake, or BigQuery Experience building internal platforms or tools that other teams used to answer their own questions Background in an operationally heavy domain such as capacity planning, supply chain, or finance Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we’d love to talk. You want the people using your software to be people you know by name, and you take it personally when it gets in their way You want a product area that is yours to own end to end, from the first conversation with a user to the thing running in production You work well at speed. Priorities here move with the business, and the problems worth solving tend to arrive on short notice You want to know whether the AI in your product is any good, and you will build the evals to find out You stand behind what you ship, whether you wrote it or a model helped you write it Why CoreWeave? At CoreWeave, we work hard, have fun, and move fast! We’re in an exciting stage of hyper-growth that you will not want to miss out on. We’re not afraid of a little chaos, and we’re constantly learning. Our team cares deeply about how we build our product and how we work together, which is represented through our core values: Be Curious at Your Core Act Like an Owner Empower Employees Deliver Best-in-Class Client Experiences Achieve More Together We support and encourage an entrepreneurial outlook and independent thinking.
