Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave combines superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability. Founded in 2017, CoreWeave became a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: CRWV) in March 2025. Learn more at www.coreweave.com . About the Team The Developer Experience team owns the services, systems, and developer-facing capabilities that enable every engineer at CoreWeave to build and ship software faster, more safely, and with greater confidence. Our scope spans the full developer lifecycle, including build infrastructure, test systems, delivery workflows, internal developer tooling, and agentic AI capabilities that are redefining how engineers move from idea to production. We operate at the scale of one of the world’s largest GPU clouds, which means our build, test, and delivery systems must handle extreme compute throughput, heterogeneous workloads, and the reliability demands of an infrastructure platform critical to thousands of engineers. About the Role This is a principal-level software engineering leadership role for an engineer who will define the long-term technical direction for Developer Experience across CoreWeave. You will operate across team boundaries, own the hardest software design and architecture problems in developer productivity, and shape the services, APIs, abstractions, and engineering standards that enable the organization to scale. Kubernetes is central to how CoreWeave’s eco system operates. This role is ideal for someone who leads with deep software engineering skill first: someone who has built large-scale production software, designed distributed systems that hold up under real-world complexity, and knows how to turn developer productivity problems into elegant, durable software solutions. You should be equally comfortable setting technical strategy, writing and reviewing high-quality code, and guiding other senior engineers through ambiguous architectural decisions. What You'll Do Define and drive the technical strategy for Developer Experience across build systems, test systems, delivery platforms, developer tooling, and agentic engineering capabilities. Own delivery at scale. Define and drive the strategy for how code goes from commit to production reliably and quickly. Attack the bottlenecks — CI/CD throughput, build and test times, deployment safety, rollback speed, and release orchestration — across a large, multi-team codebase. Architect and evolve the core services, APIs, SDKs, and software abstractions that power how engineers build, test, deploy, and operate software at CoreWeave. Lead cross-team technical initiatives that improve engineering velocity, software quality, and system reliability at organizational scale. Solve high-complexity software engineering problems involving distributed systems, service architecture, performance, scalability, concurrency, and failure handling. Identify systemic bottlenecks in developer workflows and design durable software solutions that reduce friction without increasing operational complexity. Establish technical standards and best practices for code quality, maintainability, testability, observability, and long-term system design across the engineering organization. Partner with infrastructure, security, SRE, and product engineering teams to ensure DevEx systems integrate cleanly into the broader technical ecosystem. Mentor senior engineers, raise the technical bar across teams, and help grow the next generation of staff-plus engineering leadership. Design agent-safe developer interfaces and tooling that integrate LLM-driven workflows into the build, test and code review lifecycle - ensuring automation, AI-assisted tooling and human-in-the-loop systems are first class , well governed parts of developer experience. Define and maintain the internal developer platforms' golden paths, service templates, and paved road abstractions that make it easy for engineers to do the right thing by default. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Go, with a track record of shipping high-quality production services in cloud-native environments. 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time designing, building, and owning large-scale production software and distributed systems. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field required. What You’ll Do You will own the frontend architecture of the W&B app, the product ML researchers and engineers work in every day, and be accountable for app performance, stability and reliability. A single page in W&B assembles data from many parts of the product, which power different product features owned by different teams. Individually those requests are all reasonable; in aggregate they contribute to increased load times and a worse experience for users. Performance here is a question of composition: what queries each page needs before it can render, what queries can add to that set, and how those boundaries hold as the product grows. You'll define those boundaries and make the calls they depend on. This role is frontend-led but architecture-deep and organizationally wide. You'll spend time shaping other teams' designs and building consensus across boundaries, and you'll own execution of your own plans when that's what it takes to land them. In this role you'll be responsible for the architecture, performance, and stability of the W&B Models frontend, defining the frontier of innovation for the team, and managing cross team requirements within the Models system. Some examples of what you’ll do: Setting performance targets and driving the work that meets them, with results proven in production data Deciding the app's delivery and rendering architecture, including how code is delivered efficiently Partnering with backend and platform teams on API design, including moving work out of the client Proposing and driving the larger overhauls that incremental work cannot reach Investing in our people is one of our top priorities, and we value candidates who can bring their diversified experiences to our teams. Here are some qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. We'd love to talk about whether this aligns with your experience and interests and what you’re excited to work on next. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications 8+ years building user-facing software, with deep expertise in frontend architecture and performance Have led the transformation of a large, long-lived React application with a focus on performance, product impact and dev experience and owned the outcome Strong command of React and TypeScript, with production experience in GraphQL and a modern state management approach such as Redux or Zustand, including opinions on when each is the right tool Real performance engineering skill: you can instrument an application, read both frontend and backend traces, determine precisely where time is going, and prove the improvement with numbers Solid client-side caching fundamentals, including normalization, invalidation, and the failure modes that appear at scale Hands-on experience with bundlers and build tooling, and clear views on code splitting and delivery tradeoffs Enough backend depth to design systems at a high level. You can propose a new API architecture in service of a faster client and reason about its frontend implications Track record of validating ideas, coordinating across engineering teams, and sequencing work that spans organizational boundaries An operator mindset: you measure, you ship, you follow through, and you stay close to production Preferred Qualifications Experience introducing automated enforcement such as lint rules, CI gates, or performance budgets that changed engineering behavior broadly Background in data-dense or visualization-heavy applications where rendering cost and data volume are the core constraints Familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog RUM and APM, or comparable tracing and session-replay stacks Working knowledge of Go or a similar backend language Exposure to ML, MLOps, or AI agent workflows, or genuine curiosity about the researchers and engineers who use these tools Experience with a highly configurable product, where the space of user and deployment settings can't be exhaustively tested The base salary range for this role is $227,000 to $303,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation.
