Role Overview: We are looking for an exceptional Senior FPGA Engineer to join our semi-systematic equities team. In this role, you will architect and deliver ultra-low-latency FPGA trading systems that drive our competitive edge across global equity and futures exchanges. This position offers the opportunity to lead, innovate, and push the limits of hardware performance in a fast-paced trading environment. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership Lead and mentor a team of FPGA engineers developing next-generation hardware solutions for market making. Architect and implement ultra-low-latency trading systems optimized for global equity and futures markets. Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for FPGA-based trading infrastructure. Partner closely with quantitative researchers, software developers, and network engineers to deliver integrated, high-performance trading platforms. System Development Design and implement high-throughput FPGA firmware for market data feed handling and order execution. Build modular, reusable, and scalable FPGA architectures supporting exchanges such as NYSE, NASDAQ and CBOE. Develop robust testing frameworks and automated deployment pipelines to ensure stability and reliability in production. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on FPGA design and development experience, ideally within high-frequency or market-making systems. Expert-level proficiency in SystemVerilog targeting Xilinx platforms. Deep understanding of networking and low-level protocols (10G Ethernet, multicast, MAC/PCS layers). Overview: As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you'll work directly within a small, global DevOps team that owns firm-wide infrastructure and platform solutions. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where your work ships to production. Responsibilities: Deploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes: containers, Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, and basic storage (PV/PVC concepts). Work in a GitOps model using Argo CD (or equivalent): reconcile desired state from git, troubleshoot sync and health, propose safe changes via merge requests. Extend observability: OpenTelemetry concepts, Prometheus targets and exporters, Grafana dashboards, and Alertmanager routing—always starting in lower environments. Triage alerts end-to-end: validate signal, correlate with recent changes, document findings, and escalate with evidence. Build dashboards and panels from existing metrics; add recording rules or queries only with review when appropriate. Participate in platform upgrades (Kubernetes components, agents, or controllers) following runbooks and change windows. Support migration of services from bare metal to Kubernetes under mentorship (discovery, manifests/Helm values, networking, cutover planning). The work centers on internal, production-adjacent tooling—not training or shipping customer-facing ML models. Core Internship Projects: Generative assistant for alert response Learn our observability stack and what data exists today e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Alertmanager, OpenTelemetry. Prototype a generative agent that uses approved observability sources to propose structured mitigation suggestions for alerts (hypothesis, checks, likely causes, safe next steps), with traceability back to queries, dashboards, or signals where possible. Retrieval on internal data (RAG) Build and iterate on RAG over permissioned internal data sources (e.g. runbooks, tickets, docs, system design, network design, postmortems) so suggestions and Q&A are grounded and citeable. Work with teams to improve coverage and quality of that corpus (metadata, ownership, freshness). Path toward agentic remediation (design + scoped implementation) Outline how the system could execute approved remediations behind explicit guardrails and human approval. Implement only what is allowed and under review—no autonomous production changes without platform sign-off. Broader internal Q&A Explore how additional internal, permissioned firm data can support natural language questions for engineers. Across all phases, permissioning, auditing, logging, and cost controls are non-negotiable requirements, not stretch goals. Responsibilities: Design and prototype agent workflows with tool use, policy boundaries, and human-in-the-loop where appropriate. Collaborate with platform and service teams to make more observability and operational context available in a safe, governed way for agents. Document experiments, limitations, evaluation approach, and safety assumptions; ship changes via Git (branches, merge requests, meaningful commits).
