Within the Data Platform studio, we own two critical pillars: our event delivery platform that collects trillions of events per day from producers to consumers, and another, which handles the pseudonymisation of data so Spotify can use data responsibly and in compliance with privacy regulations. These systems sit at the heart of Spotify's data collection and are used by hundreds of teams across the company. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of six experienced engineers distributed across Europe. You'll set the technical direction, ensure the team delivers high-impact work, and - just as importantly - invest deeply in the growth and careers of your engineers. If you're energised by both the technical challenges of large-scale data systems and the human side of building a high-performing team, we'd love to hear from you.

Oasis needs a people leader with significant technical machine learning depth who can help the team navigate complex technical strategy, shifting business needs, and high-impact cross-functional decisions. A great manager for this team will give experienced engineers meaningful autonomy while staying deeply engaged in their technical work. You’ll have the ML expertise to assess technical tradeoffs, steer the team toward decisions, and represent its technical direction with senior partners across Personalization, Product, and the music business. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to both the people and the work: coaching engineers, creating clarity amidst constant change, and enabling a high-performing team to move quickly without adding unnecessary process. The organization is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale. Our team makes music videos easy for fans to discover and meaningful for artists, powered by scalable, intelligent infrastructure that grows with our catalog. We're building personalized music video playlists, sorting videos into meaningful categories, and learning which videos listeners are most likely to love, then helping that content reach the right people. As a Backend Engineer, you'll help shape how millions of listeners experience music videos on Spotify, working alongside Data Engineers, Backend Engineers, and partners across product and design.

We're the source of truth for what data exists at Spotify, where it lives, who owns it, and how it flows from one pipeline to the next. These systems sit on the critical path of the platform. Data teams use them every day to publish and find data, and other platform teams build on them for access, retention, governance and incident response. That means our work is judged on correctness and reliability, because every system built on top of ours is only as good as the metadata we provide. This is a backend role focused on data management, working on the problems at the core of any large data platform: running a data catalog that stays accurate at scale, capturing lineage across batch and streaming workloads, managing schemas as they evolve, and guaranteeing that consumers only read complete data. We build on open standards like OpenLineage and Apache Iceberg, and define the internal standards for naming, storage and metadata that the rest of Spotify builds against. As the platform takes on new storage technologies and new kinds of data assets, those standards and the systems behind them have to evolve with it, and you'll help decide how.
