Although subject to change, examples of projects you will be contributing to include: Provide day to day experiences of collaboration and partnership with various leaders and team members; focus on small scale deliverables, building interpersonal relationships, exposure to cross divisional elements of the Wellmark organization Assist with the management and troubleshooting of multiple applications in support of Wellmark's systems In collaboration with application operations, assist and work with Technology and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and provide production support to research and find root cause for systems errors Develop business knowledge of the application necessary to effectively provide support maintenance Participate in the development of complex UI artifacts used by multiple development teams Maintain documentation and code examples which describe usage and best practices Work closely with UX Designers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure user experience is integral part of creation process from start to finish Collaborate in a team environment with shared code; disciplined use of source code control and process documentation. This internship will start in May of 2027, working a hybrid schedule from our headquarters in Des Moines. Current junior, senior or master’s student pursing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field. Experience or knowledge of software development technologies (Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, or SQL). Strong analytical problem-solving skills. This role will support the business development teams, focusing on the agency and agent tools. You will design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and document software solutions in support of Wellmark’s business strategy and Technology vision. Ensure completed activities meet specifications, requirements, and Wellmark standards. Apply the reference architecture, contribute to reusable assets, and produce technical specifications sufficient for development teams. c. Partner and problem-solve with the UX team in the development of solutions that improve the user experience, pass minimum accessibility or usability criteria. d. Work to resolve technical problems for on premise, cloud native, and hybrid applications and solutions. e. Support the gathering of information, necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization. Provide analysis of defects to find root cause. f. Provide recommended solution(s) that promote successful delivery of business project objectives or production support objectives and support benefits realization. g. Identify issues and think through challenges in the form of options and solutions. Partner with others to identify resolutions to known issues, impacts to project or production outcomes if not resolved, and determine when to escalate when necessary. h.
